Deirdre Towers, a contributor to The Dance Enthusiast, has written for over 12 publications including Dance Magazine, where she was a staff writer for 5 years, and produced the internationally touring Dance On Camera Festival, co-sponsored by the Film Society of Lincoln Center and Dance Films Association, from 1994-2012. The Associate Producer/Outreach Director for LA CHANA: Dancing with Closed Eyes, she has directed several short dance films, BANISHED made with Caroline Copeland, soloist with New York Baroque Dance Company, (BLACK) LIGHT featuring Katherine Crockett, LOCO MOTION, and worked on several classical music documentaries produced by Peter Rosen. She has a Masters in Arts Administration from New York University, a BA from Hamilton College, with a semester with World Learning studying music and dance in Ghana.
