SWALLOWING AND SPITTING HISTORY
Tuesday, October 10 | 4-7pm

Eiko will join composer / sound artist Miya Masaoka and theater director Brooke O'Harra at Swallowing and Spitting History: Historical Performance and Experimental Practice / Perspectives from Japanese Performing Arts. Eiko will lead a movement workshop, show videos, and converse with these artists and moderator Marilyn Ivy, Professor of Anthropology at Columbia University. After the workshop, a group of scholars (including Katie Brewer Ball, Peter Echersall, Tyran Grillo, William Johnston, Thomas Looser, and others) will write reflections in a “roundtable” format for publication.

The workshop is free and open to the public with advance registration.
