MOVEMENT. HEALING. TRANSFORMATION.
How can dance transform the body? How can we tap into its power to transcend physically, mentally and spiritually? Join us as we explore these questions through dialogue and practice with Master Teachers of movement and healing. Not only do they share movement as a tool of healing, but they also helm its power to elevate self and others.
The day starts with a panel of experts including master teaching artist and Lucumi priest Tony Domenech, dance therapist Diane Duggan, dance fitness instructor Courtney Thompson and massage therapist Khadija Tudor. We will dive into their methodologies of dance and movement practices as a way of holistic restoration and therapy.
Next, experience the magic of movement with Afro-Cuban and Kukuwa dance classes lead by Domenech and Thompson. We will then close out the afternoon by engaging in the dynamism of touch through massage with the practitioners of Life Wellness. Attendees will also enjoy snacks, mingling and connecting.
