Contemporary Class Description:
In Jennifer Rose’s class, we take risks together to help understand all of the capabilities our body has to offer us. We use the tools of tai-chi as well as various classical forms and apply them to a contemporary and virtuosic movement vocabulary. We learn the tools to become comfortable dancing in and out of the floor, playing on and off our central axis with safe and efficient mechanics. We play improvisational games to discover the expression from our interior world, to the level of our skin and then out into the world with clarity. We sweat together, we challenge each other to be vulnerable, we inspire one another and practice the rituals of expression to our fullest capacity. This class is for pre-professional and professional dancers.
Class Rate: $12 for Students / Professional / PhiladelphiaDANCE.org Member, $15 regular Drop-In
