Choreography and music by Hofesh Shechter

Part of the 2017 Next Wave Festival

Channeling the anarchic energy of a mosh pit and the technical prowess of a corps de ballet, Hofesh Shechter Company returns to the Opera House stage with the latest work by the bold UK-based Israeli choreographer. Ten dancers move through a constantly morphing vision of human cataclysm and the death throes of a world in free fall, accompanied by Shechter’s pulsating original score—performed live onstage by a six-piece band. With scenic design by British production artist Tom Scutt, Grand Finale is a fevered maelstrom, conjuring at once the bleak and beautiful contradictions of our ever-collapsing universe.
