With bold athleticism and dramatic nuance, Carolyn Dorfman Dance returns to the Bickford Theatre with contemporary dance that moves you to think, feel, laugh, and engage. This season’s performance features:

The incomparable storyteller, narrator, and librettist Charlotte Blake Alston performing live in Dance/Stories, an enchanting interdisciplinary collaboration featuring a selection of folk tales and authentic stories from around the world. Interweaving thought-provoking choreography with the power of the spoken word, Dorfman magically turns to the Earth’s oldest art form – storytelling – into a moving tapestry that “bathes the senses and the soul.”

Dorfman’s acclaimed SEXTET. With a powerful and driving score by jazz composer Horacee Arnold, this dance explores the energy, rhythm, and power of six dancers as they connect, divide, and regroup.

UNFOLDING, a new work by former principal dancer Ae-Soon Kim. In her work for 5 dancers, Kim and composers Greg Wall and Shai Barchar combine Korean Drumming with an electronic score to explore her roots on three continents: Asia, Europe, and America.

Don’t miss this exciting return engagement!
