Returning Ballets:

Sweet’s Sweet Suite (2009)
Choreographed by Aubrey Lynch, Sweet Funk is part one of a jazz story ballet, a suite of dances about an outcast named Sweet. In this episode against the wishes of his older teenage friends, Sweet is determined to turn the night from glamour to one of pure funk and fun!

Alice (2016) - HSA Dance Junior!
Based on Alice in Wonderland, Leyland Simmons choreographs a short story ballet about Alice’s visit to Wonderland. Set to the music of Vitaliy Zavadskyy, this is a theatrical, contemporary modern exploration premiered in Winter Blaze 2017.

Paradox and Possibilities (2016)

Choreographed by Resident Choreographer Leyland Simmons, this ballet will feature HSA Prep and Pre-Prep students, Nasrullah Abdur-Rahman and Darcy Garde.

In search of our Mother’s Gardens (2017)
This is a work that celebrates the involvement of women of color within the feminist movement. Inspired by the writings of Alice Walker, this work aims to acknowledge the contributions of women whose work influences have gone unrecognized.

Prayer for Earth (2016)

Choreographed by Aubrey Lynch, this dance is a reaction to the political and world events of 2016. It is a prayer for hope for the future and a call to the world to wake up and get involved. Premiered at Winter Blaze 2017 will be performed to new music.
