2018 INKUBATE® DANCE FESTIVAL, NEW JERSEY DANCE THEATRE ENSEMBLE

and REEVES-REED ARBORETUM, DANCE + NATURE = INKUBATE® in SUMMIT

Company to Present a Series of Three Summer Performances at Reeves-Reed Arboretum

SUMMIT, NJ – June 18, 2018 – New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble (NJDTE) and Reeves-Reed Arboretum will collaborate for the fourth consecutive summer to present the 2018 INKUBATE® Dance Festival, a site-specific series of three dance performances throughout the gardens of the Arboretum in Summit, NJ.

NJDTE is thrilled to produce a fourth summer of this successful dance festival. “We continue to realize our vision of establishing Summit as a serious destination for dance and culture in the region. It is important to see opportunities and think ‘out of the box’, which is what initiated the concept of INKUBATE® = DANCE + NATURE, a unique site-specific, outdoor dance festival,” says NJDTE Artistic Director Nancy Turano.

Since 2015, NJDTE has provided Artist-in-Residency® choreographic residencies for contemporary dance artists at their NJDTE studios in downtown Summit. These curated residencies culminate in INKUBATE® outdoor performances at nearby Reeves-Reed Arboretum. Turano invites contemporary choreographers and provides space for them investigate movement which enables them to grow their ideas into a body of work. These artists then can further that exploration in one of the INKUBATE® site-specific dance events.

In 2017, over 600 nature and arts enthusiasts immersed themselves in the INKUBATE® site-specific performance experience.

June 27, first of three INKUBATE® performances, will feature emerging choreographers including; Lauren Connolly, 2017 recipient of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship Award; Marie Lloyd Paspe, choreographer and current dancer with Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company and Carolyn Dorfman Dance; and Amanda Killmer, choreographer pursuing BFA in choreography at Marymount Manhattan College.

The 2018 INKUBATE® performances will be held on Wednesday evenings at 7pm-8pm at Reeves-Reed Arboretum on   June 27, July 11, and August 1. Grounds open at 6pm for concertgoers to picnic. Tickets are free for Arboretum members, $15 donation for non-members, and $5 for students.
