NOT YOUR TYPICAL NUTCRACKER...

Join world-renowned choreographer Igal Perry for an innovative contemporary Nutcracker experience! Peridance Capezio Center's original production pushes the boundaries of the holiday favorite we all know and love! Snowflakes and sugarplums and a grand pas de duex will capture your heart as they have been since childhood. With over 60 performers, this professionally lit extravaganza is set to excerpts from Tchaikovsky's original score as well as new music selected by Igal Perry. In the theme of "A Contemporary Look," this classical Nutcracker story is brilliantly blended with a fusion of hip hop and contemporary dance to guide you through the falling snowflakes and waltzing flowers. Our version of The Nutcracker will bring dreams to life and will definitely be a holiday event to remember! The performance is led by the stellar Peridance Contemporary Dance Company dancers, alongside young students from The School at Peridance, the talented Peridance Youth Ensemble, and pre-professional dancers from the Certificate Program. Original choreography by Igal Perry with additional choreography by Marlena Wolfe and Kenichi Kasamatsu. Lighting by Brant Thomas Murray. Staging by Diego Funes & Nikki Holck. Production Design by Terry Mathis
