Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, presents a dance commission preview, Caleb Teicher & Co with Conrad Tao: More Forever on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 7:30pm.
Caleb Teicher & Company have teamed up with Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Conrad Tao to create their first evening-length work, More Forever, to premiere in January 2019 at Works & Process. On a stage filled with a thin layer of sand, dancers explore American dance traditions such as vernacular jazz, tap, and Lindy Hop, set to Tao's new contemporary score for piano and electronics.
More Forever will premiere at Works & Process at the Guggenheim on January 6 and 7, 2019.
Music for More Forever is commissioned by the Charles and Joan Gross Family Foundation.

Caleb Teicher & Company (CT&Co), founded in 2015 by acclaimed dancer/choreographer Caleb Teicher, seeks to expand the capacity of America's rich music and dance traditions (primarily Tap Dance, Vernacular Jazz, and Lindy Hop) through innovative choreography, performance, and contextualization.
Whether clogging to a live beatboxer or sand-dancing to a new contemporary score by Conrad Tao, audiences have warmed to the company's unique style of theatricality, warmth, emotional expression, and aesthetic exploration. Recent engagements include Fall For Dance @ New York City Center, The Joyce Theater, Works & Process @ the Guggenheim (Bilbao & NYC), ADF @ DanceCleveland, UNCW, PS21 Chatham, and many others.
Caleb Teicher is an acclaimed NYC-based dancer and choreographer specializing in American dance traditions. He's a 2011 Bessie Award Winner for Outstanding Individual Performance, one of Dance Magazine's2012 "25 to Watch", a 2011 YoungArts silver medal-winner in dance, and has been featured by NPR Music, Interview Magazine, Vogue, Dance Magazine, Dance Spirit, and many other publications.
Caleb first received critical and audience acclaim as a founding member of Michelle Dorrance's Dorrance Dance as well as performing with The Bang Group, The Chase Brock Experience, Sally Silvers & Dancers, and on tour with West Side Story. Since founding CT&Co in 2015, Teicher's artistic reach has expanded to commissions from Works & Process @ the Guggenheim, Fall For Dance @ New York City Center, several engagements with symphony orchestras (including the National Symphony Orchestra @ the Kennedy Center), and many touring engagements with the company's rep.
Caleb also continues to engage with local and international dance communities by teaching at Tap and Swing festivals around the world.
Conrad Tao has appeared worldwide as a pianist and composer, performing to universal acclaim from critics and audiences alike. His accolades and awards include being a Presidential Scholar in the Arts, a YoungArts gold medal- winner in music, a Gilmore Young Artist, and an Avery Fisher Career Grant-winner. Tao's career as composer has garnered eight consecutive ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Awards and the Carlos Surinach Prize from BMI, including commissions from the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Pacific Symphony, Hong Kong Philharmonic, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, and many more. His two Warner Classics albums Voyages and Pictures have been praised by NPR, The New York Times, The New Yorker's Alex Ross, and others.
Works & Process at the Guggenheim
Described by The New York Times as "an exceptional opportunity to understand something of the creative process," for over 34 years and in over 500 productions, New Yorkers have been able to see, hear, and meet the most acclaimed artists in the world, in an intimate setting unlike any other. Works & Process, the performing arts series at the Guggenheim, has championed new works and offered audiences unprecedented access to generations of leading creators and performers. Most performances take place in the Guggenheim's intimate Frank Lloyd Wright-designed 285-seat Peter B. Lewis Theater.
