Back by popular demand, Cora Dance presents its beloved, annual, retro, high-school-prom-themed, kick-ass, 70s-80s-90s dance party: THE RED HOOK COMMUNITY PROM, Saturday, June 2, 7pm-Midnight in the gym of South Brooklyn Community High School, 173 Conover Street in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Admission is PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN* and proceeds support the scholarship fund of Cora Dance in Red Hook. What began as a community-wide spirit lifter after Hurricane Sandy has grown into a hot, sweaty, booty-shakin, throwdown dance party for the entire community!
Think back. Wasnt your high school prom the most magical night of your teenage life? OR... Maybe your prom was a nightmare... crying in the bathroom, your date got drunk and that dress you thought was, like, so totally awesome? Three girls had the same dress (and better shoes.) Whether you want to relive it all or need a total re-do, THE RED HOOK COMMUNITY PROM is the place to make it happen! With photo booth by MVS Studios; an incredible silent auction; live performances by Coras professional and youth companies; and throwback 70s, 80s, and 90s hits spun by DJ Robert Lux (recently featured at Lollapalooza and Super Bowl XLVIII official in-stadium Pre-Party), theres no inhibition on the dance floor at THIS prom, because theres wine by Atelier Roquette, beer by Other Half Brewing Co. and HOLY PROM QUEEN...the punch is spiked by Dry Dock! Come help Cora Dance Kick-Off its 20th Anniversary Season in NYC at an event thatll rock you like its 1999! Festive prom attire is encouraged but not required. Come be pretty-in-pink or just be yourself at THE 2018 RED HOOK COMMUNITY PROM!
THE RED HOOK COMMUNITY PROM is produced by Cora Dance - a not-for-profit 501(C)3 organization that includes professional and youth dance companies, pay-what-you-can school and dance studio in Red Hook, Brooklyn - with additional support provided by Ample Hills Creamery, Atelier Roquette, Baked, Big Dawg Party Rentals, Dry Dock, Elements Hair Studio, Fort Defiance, Hometown BBQ, MVS Studios, Other Half Brewing Company, Realty Collective, SaveMor Digital Copy Center, Sixpoint and other local Red Hook merchants! THIS EVENT SUPPORTS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR KIDS. CHILDREN/FAMILIES WELCOME, BUT WE ID AT THE DOOR! ANYONE UNDER 16 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
*ADMISSION IS PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN. (Suggested: $100, minimum $5). ADVANCE PURCHASE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

**No seating is available unless you purchase a table. Table Sponsorship is $600 per table and includes the following:
-Admission for 6 people at the Prom
-A round table for the six guests and bottle of champagne/sparkling cider for the table
-Recognition at the Prom through signage and by Shannon while MC-ing the event
*Annual Giving Circle Members receive 10% off table sponsorship
