Fridays at Noon: James Martin, Rebecca Lazier, and Rebecca Stenn

Return To Events

92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Festival

92nd Street Y - 1395 Lexington Ave.

Martin shows excerpts from The Enchanted Piano, a dance for five women set to music for amplified piano by Henry Cowell and George Crumb. Stenn shows her 2010 Drinking the Sky, a solo where she explored and then pushed beyond the far reaches of her capacity as a performer. She also shows a piece she created with composer Konrad Kaczmarek, Zone A, which explores the relationship between mover and sound-maker. Lazier is looking at isolation, confinement and compulsion in her work-in-progress Coming Together/Attica. She explores the movement that grows from trying to keep internal order when the outside is falling apart.
