2nd Annual BIBC

The second annual Boston International Ballet Competition (BIBC), founded and directed by Valentina Kozlova, former principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet and New York City Ballet. will take place in three packed days, culminating in the awards ceremony and gala performance with guests Misty Copeland, Charles Askegard, Whitney Jensen, Paulo Arrais, and medalists from 2011 and 2012.     Nearly 100 dancers, ages 13 to 25, from dozens of countries around the world will share their love of ballet and dance for company contracts, scholarships, guest appearances, and monetary rewards.   The panel is headed by Mikko Nissinen, Artistic Director of the Boston Ballet, and includes Andris Liepa (Russia), Margo Sappington (USA), Septime Webre (USA) , Oleksi Bessmertni (Germany), Olga Guardia de Smoak (Panama), and Hae Shik Kim (South Korea).   June 15-17 at the Cutler Majestic Theater, 219 Tremont Street, in Boston.
