In this unprecedented time, Dance/USA recognizes the vital importance of sharing expert resources with the field. As we design our own programming for this year's Virtual Conference, Dance/USA is pleased to raise the profile of select national partners that are providing the dance community with rich, relevant, and trusted content. This Spring, Dance/USA will present a series of online events, offering a vibrant arch to the learning and information sharing you will experience with the Dance/USA Virtual Conference in June.

Next up in the series is Helping Staff and Audiences Feel Safe Again, a free webinar from the University of Kentucky Department of Arts Administration, which will take place on Tuesday, May 19 at 3:00PM ET

This interactive webinar supports arts managers in planning for the future of their organizations through the lens of safety and resiliency. Participants will survey and discuss local social and cultural reactions to the COVID-19 pandemic, then create a custom plan of action for staff and other stakeholders to be engaged in recovery and preparedness moving forward. The one-hour webinar is instructor-led with open discussion throughout to allow for questions, shared ideas, and healing.

The speaker is Professor Leah Hamilton.

Music Licensing and Live Streaming
This topic is top of mind for all of you.  We hear that the entire issue of music rights is frustrating – from finding the rights owners, to getting a response from the rights owner, to re-negotiating current agreements during the crisis.  This will not solve all of the issues, but please take a look at a resource released this month by the Music Publishers Association (MPA) on music licensing and live streaming: Streaming Live Music & COVID-19: What You Need to Know.

Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19
This issue of when and how to safely return to studios and theaters is a huge question.  Constituents are asking wise questions around keeping their dancers, staff, and audiences healthy while recognizing the needs of dancers and students to train and move.  The issues around liability (both legally and reputation-wise) and sanitization procedures are vast.  While you contemplate these issues, you may find the report by OSHA and the Department of Labor helpful: Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19.

Navigating Artist Immigration During COVID-19
Do you have questions around artist visas during this pandemic?  Are you wondering about the latest federal government restrictions?  The Artists From Abroad website has up to date information on many of these issues from trusted experts.

Teaching Dance Online
If you're looking for tips, best practices, and strategies for teaching dance online, The National Dance Education Organization (NDEO), has resources for you from leading experts: Teaching Dance Online

Please continue to stay safe during this crisis.  We look forward to engaging with you through member Council and Affinity Group calls, upcoming webinars, virtual office hours, and the June virtual conference.

May you stay healthy and keep moving!
