CPR - Center for Performance Research, an independent 501(c)3 organization dedicated to supporting the development of new works in contemporary dance, is proud to announce that it has received generous funding from the Howard Gilman Foundation

The $35,000 grant will provide CPR with general operating funds, helping the organization to continue to provide critical resources to its artistic community, including curated programs focused on rehearsal and residency support, generating time and space for research and dialogue, and providing public presentation opportunities. In particular, funds will be used to support strategic planning as the organization enters its second decade. Since the 2009 opening of the organization’s home—a 4,000 square foot arts facility in Williamsburg, Brooklyn—CPR has supported more than 1700 artists in the development of dance and performance projects, while exposing local audiences to contemporary artistic process through performances and work-in-progress showings, salon style discussions, and symposia.

In addition to the Howard Gilman Foundation, CPR is grateful for the support of other prominent funders, past and present, including the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Mertz Gilmore Foundation, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, New York State Council on the Arts, Brooklyn Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, as well as generous individual donors.

CPR respectfully acknowledges that we gather together in Lenapehoking, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Lenape people.
