Favorite Studio Shots

I am a performer/producer/artistic director of Moving Arts Projects.
My company celebrates the power of solo performance and the connections between dancers throughout history.
I decided to create the Dance-Enthusiast to further Moving Arts Projects mission of connecting dancers and educating audiences about the power of this art form.
I have been a dance-enthusiast since I was a little girl.
I created the site with Will Arnold, a wonderful web designer.
I am excited by all the possiblities of this new endeavor.

My Favorite Dance Companies Are:

I go to performances to see individual artists and choreographers or a particular show that sounds fun /interesting. Don't have favorite companies.
I have great respect and appreciation for the classics of modern dance and ballet. Some of my favorite artists are soloists and mostly of the older and experienced variety: Risa Steinberg, Margie Gillis, Carmen De Llavallade, Janet Eilber,
Ann Carlson-as a performer and dance performance maker , Mark Morris performing ...some of the amazing Graham artists.... Love to see individual people of experience on stage...performers that connect me to ideas that are bigger than dance - Liz Lerman uses artists of all ages and body types beautifully.
Love to see imperfection and vulnerability.

My Occupation:

dancer/writer/teacher/mom of 2 boys

The last dance performance I loved was:

Tere O Connor's Show at the Chocolate Factory
My 5 year old son's interpretation of The Pokemon Theme Song in my living room-

My other interests include:

Learning what makes people do what they do, Going to and talking about theater, Classic Movies and New Film, Cooking, Nature, learning how to be a good parent ( without going bonkers in the process), traveling, appreciating beauty wherever I find it and finding humour and joy in life -

I am a dance enthusiast because:

I love dance artists ( even the pompous ones)
Dancing feels great.
Dance is the worlds best kept secret, and we should try to let everyone else in on it.

If I could have dinner with any choreographer / dancer, it would be:
Because:

1. George Balanchine- because he loved to cook

2. Eleanor King- because I performed 2 of her solos in my career and really enjoyed them. I sensed a kindred spirit just through her movement and I would like to find out if I was right.

I am inspired by:
