I like dance. I like the weird, post-modern kind. The but-what-does-it-all-mean? kind.

Currently I'm working as a company manager for Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance and Battleworks Dance Company. I'm dancing with Krista Miller + Dancers and Jesse Phillips-Fein.

Here's part of my artist statement:

I celebrate the challenge of the dancing body’s dual nature, that of both artistic medium and theatrical character. To me, this duality of “pure movement” and narrative creates a stimulating performance experience and is one the most philosophically engaging areas of post-modern dance.  As a result, my favorite dances to watch are not only topically informative but also use innovative performance techniques, and my aim as a choreographer is to create dances that can be described as such.

I am a dance enthusiast because:

There was no hope for me to be anything else.  My mom's best friend was a ballet teacher, and she hooked me in before I could make up my mind for myself :-)
