Powers in Motion: Action-packed Break Week (Spring Break)—April 8–18, 2017

The Children’s’ Museum invites you to an action-packed spring break. All week long explore different forms of power like super powers, energy, creativity and strength. Train to be a superhero, help us construct an imaginary machine, create new playground games and design tap shoes that really stomp. Enjoy powerful performances by the New York Chinese Cultural Center and their lion dance, explore quantum physics with SYREN Modern Dance, and fuse martial arts and music when you learn capoeira from Silva Dance Company.

 

Superheroes in Training

Prepare for the challenge of being a superhero through a series of obstacle course games that support physical fitness, balance, and strength training as well as team building.

Dance with Groove With Me! 

Young dancers from the youth organization Groove With Me, Inc perform an upbeat hip hop number and teach hip hop dance moves. Groove With Me, Inc. is a youth development organization that uses free dance classes and performance opportunities to instill leadership, pride, cooperation, creativity, joy and discipline in young women.

Groove With Me celebrates 20 years of dancing to a positive future!
