The 8th Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition, celebrating talent in both classical and contemporary dance, will take place Monday-Friday, March 26-30 at Symphony Space, NYC.   Over 100 dancers from 18 countries around the world will dance for medals, scholarships, and company contracts before a panel of international dance figures led by Andris Liepa and including Nina Ananiashvili, Charles Jude, Mikko Nissinen, and Nikolai Tsiskaridze.


Each day begins with class from 8:30 to 9:30, taught by Vitaly Verterich and held in City Center Studios, 130 West 56 Street, and you're also welcome to view a class.

COMPETITION SCHEDULE:
Monday March 26 
11:30-12:45 PM - Student Round 
1 PM-3:15 PM - Junior Round 
4:15-6:15 PM - Senior Round 

Tuesday March 27 
12 noon-1:30 PM - Youth Round
1:50-3:30 PM - Junior Round, classical and contemporary dance
4:30-6:30 PM - Senior Round

Wednesday March 28
2-3:30 PM - Contemporary Solos
3:45-5:15 PM - Contemporary Solos, advanced
6:15-7:15 PM - Contemporary Choreography, Duets and Ensemble Dances

Thursday March 29
2:30-3:20 PM - Student Finals
3:40-4:30 PM - Junior Finals
4:45-6:45 PM - Senior Finals

Friday March 30
6-6:15 PM - Announcement of Awards
7PM - Gala Performance/Tribute to Nureyev
