Bill Young will present several small works for guest artists, including a solo portrait created for Priscilla Newell, a former American dancer with Lucinda Childs who has lived in France since the 80s, and part of a suite of works to early music of John Cage, which includes a revival of a solo (originally created for Brenda Daniels) performed by Lindsey Jones, and a trio performed by Jones with Melissa Toogood and Dylan Crossman, featuring a new costume design by Maile Okamura.
Colleen Thomas offers Her(e) Repetitive Blueprint (work-in-progress) with music by John McGrew, performed by Thomas, Samantha Allen, Julia Discenza, and Jessica Stroh. The beginning sketch of a full-evening work, it is a setting of ruminations on the themes of womanhood, femininity, distributions of power, marginalization, and internalized social paradigms that touch all of humanity.
Matthew Westerby Company premieres a new work that considers the connection we make between physical experience and memory, and the inevitable impermanence of the experiences and people that we value most. With an athletic-yet-fluid approach to movement and a vivid, driving sound score by composer Bryan Senti, this full-company work explores the critical link between memory and physicality in a world of fleeting intimacy.

Karen Bernard has unflinchingly used her own aging body for decades as a vehicle to alter the definitions of dance and dancer. In the early 1990s, her work shifted significantly, with a ripple effect on performance art still perceptible today. Honoring costume designer Liz Prince, Bernard will present a collection of work spanning over 20 years. 1993-1996 It Could Have Been Different, excerpts from four seminal works Bernard created between 1993 and 1996, features original costumes by Liz Prince, sound scores by Wendy Chambers, and popular music deconstructed by Brooks Williams. The premiere of Bernard's Suspending and Other Tricks takes the audience on a voyeuristic journey, sharing a birds-eye view from outside an arched window to the inside of a room where Bernard grapples with the limitations of aging and mortality, a journey now closer to its end than its beginning; an intimate and moving experience between audience and performer. Creation of performance and videography is by Karen Bernard in collaboration with costume designer Hwa Park and sound-installation artist Boris Billier.
