BalletX at The Joyce
BalletX combines world-class choreographers with an outstanding company of professional dancers, to forge new works of athleticism, emotion, and grace. After selling out performances during The Joyce’s Ballet Festival, the Philadelphia-based company under the direction of Christine Cox returns for its first full week. The program includes three New York premieres by some of today’s leading choreographic voices—BalletX co-founder Matthew Neenan’s Show Me set to music by Brooklyn Rider; a new work by Trey McIntyre, Big Ones, set to the music of Amy Winehouse; and Jorma Elo’s Gran Partita, featuring the music of J.S. Bach, Mozart, Monteverdi, and Alban Berg.
