CHICAGO: Winifred Haun & Dancers presents "Trashed" (premiere)
Winifred Haun & Dancers
Trashed is our newest ensemble work, created in collaboration with renowned Australian circus artist, Emma Serjeant. Choreographed by Ms. Serjeant and Ms. Haun, Trashed is a completely new movement tour-de-force that combines Modern Dance with Contemporary Circus to tell the story of how humans have to come to clutter their lives with too much stuff, and how all that clutter keeps us from each other.
The premiere of Trashed can be seen:
Saturday, March 18 at 5:30pm
Saturday, March 18 at 8:30pm
Sunday, March 19 at 4:30pm
Aloft Circus Arts, 3324 N. Wrightwood in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood. Tickets are $30/general admission
Participating artists include: Solomon Bowser, Zada Cheeks, Ariel Dorsey, Michael Gee and Rebekah Kuczma of Winifred Haun & Dancers, and Emma Serjeant, Katie McDonagh and Catherine Wait of Emma Serjeant Performance. Trashed will feature an original costume design by Jeff Hancock.
In addition to Trashed, the evening’s program will also include “Your nearest exit may be behind you,” a modern dance work choreographed by Winifred Haun in 2016, and a hand balancing solo work choreographed and performed by Emma Serjeant.
Trashed, and this international collaboration, was made possible with major support from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
