"Einstein's Happiest Thought" is about to burst onto the stage!

Hello my friend ~

“Einstein’s Happiest Thought” is about to burst onto the stage!

AMD is about to launch our 2013-14 NDP tour with the world premiere of “Einstein’s Happiest Thought” at onStage @ Connecticut College, Sept. 28th, 2013.  After the premiere we are off to Boston to perform at the Institute for Contemporary Art (ICA) Nov. 8th & 9th.  Please join us for an installation performance at the ICA on Nov. 1st as part of First Fridays. We’ll keep you informed about the rest of the tour dates to NYC, DC, CT, NC, SC & NH!

In the meantime check out this 1 min. “Einstein…” teaser by Shawn Hove.

For two weeks in July, the company was joined by collaborators Josh Quillen, Kathy Couch and Ain Gordon for a mind-blowing NDP production residency at Connecticut College. Gordon provided an outside eye as the collaborators, dancers and I conducted our final dynamic layering in preparation for the premiere of the work. Check out these behind the scenes photos by Christopher Duggan.

Adele Myers and Dancers also started working on a new project, “The Dancing Room” commissioned by the American Dance Festival (ADF) for their Footprints performance series.  It was an honor and a pleasure to share the Footprints bill with choreographers Rosie Herrera and Vanessa Voskuil.  Company members Kellie Lynch, Diana Deaver and I collaborated with an extraordinary ensemble of women to launch the new work, which emphasizes the stellar individual virtuosity of each dancer.  According to correspondent Roy C. Dicks of the Durham-based News Observer “The work’s uplifting exuberance lingers long after the curtain falls."  Read the full review.

Check out this 2 min. interview about our creative process at ADF.
