Ballet Tech KIDS DANCE
Company:
KIDS DANCE
Ballet Tech KIDS DANCE returns to The Joyce with a program of four classics by Eliot Feld, performed by 63 whiz-kids, ages 11-18. Hello Fancy was Feld's first work created for young dancers in 1992 and will be revived for this season; the effervescent Joggers is a trio to a bouncy score by Dutch composer Dick Koomans; A Stair Dance has the dancers performing a fresh, delectable exercise on a stairway in a dance dedicated to Gregory Hines; and KYDZNY is a bubbly Balkan piece for an ensemble of 39 remarkably poised and impeccably rehearsed kids, dancing to music by the Raya Brass Band. All dancers are students at Feld's tuition-free Ballet Tech, and have been selected through open auditions in NYC public schools.
