The Shape of Memory
taught by Mariangela Lopez
January 17-February 14
Fridays| 12:30-2:30pm
$15 drop-in |$65 for all 5 sessions

This workshop is open to everyone interested in exploring their unique way of moving. It is about finding ways to make more visceral choices rather than intellectualizing the design of the body in the space.

The participants will explore their own creative and movement potential through releasing their personal memories and perceptions of their own environment by utilizing the power of the group to then build a collective experience.

Participants can take all sessions or as many sessions they can attend.

This class is geared to anyone! Adults and teenagers are welcome.

Visit accessbax.bax.org/nailing-audition for more information and how to register.

TECHNIQUE IMPROVISATION
with Marjani Fortè
January 29-February 19
Wednesdays | 1-4pm
$18 drop-in/$60 for all 4 sessions

This will be a 3 hour workshop dedicated to the curious and dynamic mover.  We'll begin with a traditional technique class that encourages efficiency, anatomic consciousness, and endurance. The workshop will culminate with The Cypher: Improv Jam, an opportunity to practice what you've honed, in an over flow of your own dancing and movement.  This workshop is geared to create space for artists to tend to their physical bodies, while marrying it with a creative mind and willful passion for specificity, risk, abandonment, and play in Contemporary Dance.

Movers of all styles and levels are welcomed.  An open mind, rich curiosity, and passion for movement are all that is needed.

Visit accessbax.bax.org/technique-improvisation for more information.
