Dance/NYC is happy to welcome the NYC COVID-19 Response & Impact Fund in The New York Community Trust, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the Jerome Robbins Foundation, and the GKV Foundation as supporters of the Coronavirus Dance Relief Fund.

With thanks to their contribution along with our founding partners, Dance/NYC has been able to award over $184,000 to 269 freelance dance workers in relief for the months of March and April, and will award over $260,000 to 500+ freelance dance workers in the months of May and June.

Dance/NYC continues to advocate on behalf of the New York City metropolitan dance community, and fundraising for the Coronavirus Dance Relief Fund continues. If you or anyone you know is interested in donating to this fund, please visit: Dance.NYC/about/donate.

ABOUT THE FUND
The Dance/NYC Coronavirus Dance Relief Fund is made possible by the generous support of a coalition of funders including the Howard Gilman Foundation, the Mertz Gilmore Foundation, the Arnhold Foundation, the Ford Foundation, NYC COVID-19 Response & Impact Fund at the New York Community Trust, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, the Jerome Robbins Foundation, the GKV Foundation, and the Harkness Foundation for Dance.

The purpose of the funding initiative is to mitigate the growing impact of the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak on individual freelance dance workers and dance making organizations based in the metropolitan New York City area and New Jersey state, particularly financial losses incurred due to the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus and the social restriction measures implemented to contain the spread of the virus.

The Fund will prioritize supporting  communities most impacted by COVID-19 including African, Latina/o/x, Asian, Arab, and Native American (ALAANA), disabled, immigrant, and women-identifying dance workers, as well as those at high risk including elderly and immunosuppressed dance workers.
