Kristen Hedberg (she/her) is a New York City based dancer and writer. Born and raised in Richmond, VA, she earned her BFA in Contemporary Dance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She attended The Martha Graham School during her senior year of college for credit, where she worked as a School Assistant. In her collegiate years, Kristen cultivated her love for performance and writing, and remains dedicated to combining these passions in her dance career.
Kristen is currently a company dancer with Jon Lehrer Dance Company, with whom she has toured domestically and internationally. She was a member of the RIOULT Repertory Group from 2019-2020 under the direction of Pascal Rioult, Joyce Herring, and Charis Haines. She has also danced with Curet Performance Project, Faustine Lavie Dance Project, Susie McHugh + Dancers, and mignolo dance, among others.
Kristen is a freelance writer, and is an experienced dance reviewer, editor, and blogger. Her writing has been featured in Dance Informa, Jazz Choreography Enterprises Magazine, and OUR PATHS.
