Triskelion Arts is pleased to present Quentin Burley Dance Group’s latest evening-length work, "But Enough About Me". The performance of the self in social media and identity politics illustrates a skewed version of a person… one where authenticity is questioned and self-aggrandizement is common. QBDG’s new production unravels the millennial obsession with the self and it's uncanny likeness to art-making. Who holds the power in an identity? Does truth lie in the performance or the perception? "But Enough About Me" utilizes live and pre-recorded video to offer multiple sight lines into identity and it's performance. The piece is inspired by the sci-fi trope of the android, Dadaism, and Miley Cyrus. A world is created where the seams between the objecthood and personhood of an individual unravel, laying bare the myth of identity.
