Henning Rübsam is a contributor to The Dance Enthusiast and also the artistic director and choreographer of NYC based SENSEDANCE. Rübsam was asked to join The Dance Enthusiast contributing team after sharing his Audience Review of a season of NYCB. Read here. He earned his B.F.A. degree in dance from The Juilliard School, where his mentors included Martha Hill and Elizabeth Keen. Upon graduation he founded SENSEDANCE while continuing to dance with other choreographers: namely, Duncan Macfarland, Murray Louis, and Alwin Nikolais. Rübsam is the recipient of a Jerome L. Greene Fellowship, a Lincoln Center Fellowship, a Manhattan Spirit Award for "best male dancer,” choreography award from Stephens College, and an award for his advocacy from Dancers Responding to AIDS.
