Dance Department Scholarship Audition/Interview Day
The DeSales University Dance Department will be hosting a Scholarship Audition/Interview date for our dance candidates who have already applied thru the DeSales admissions process. We will be holding auditions on Saturday, January 19th from 11:30am-4:00pm. Please arrange to stay the entire duration of our day.
The DeSales Dance Department audition will consist of a ballet dance class followed by a modern dance class. Also, our dance faculty members will conduct informal interviews with each dance candidate. Please bring attire that will help you feel comfortable dancing in both ballet and modern styles. We recommend (although not required) pink tights and black leotard for ballet, hair in a bun (at least pulled back and out of your face) and footless tights for modern. Ballet slippers for ballet and bare feet for modern. Please no baggy or loose fitting clothes, we want to see your alignment and posture. No dangling jewelry and no chewing gum.
We ask that you also send a picture, resume, writing sample answering the question. “Why Do You Want to Study Dance at DeSales University,” and one letter of recommendation from a dance teacher prior to your audition. If you have not sent these items in already, you may bring these items with you when you arrive.
