This two hour embodied antiracism session for white folks will emphasize and explore the role of accountability in ending white supremacy. Through embodied and experiential practice we will explore:
● Accountability and obstacles to accountability.
● “Stress shapes”: a body-centered framework for understanding our conditioned protective and defensive strategies under the pressure of racialized harm and conflict.
● Shame and shame resilience.

ABOUT STRONGHOLD | We ground white affinity work in education, practice and accountability. We aim to cultivate a space of rigorous learning without reproducing patterns of intellectualizing and disembodiment. As such, we ground our learning in our felt senses and ask each other to track the connections between curricular content, body sensations, and emotions. We hold each other accountable to keeping our work “close to home,” focusing on self-inquiry, lived experience and personal responsibility in transforming the conditions of white supremacy “from the inside out.”
