Joshua Beamish/MOVETHECOMPANY present Solos & Duets, an evening of works performed by artists from American Ballet Theatre, Kidd Pivot, the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, and Beamish himself. Featuring ABT Soloists Fangqi Li, Patrick Frenette, and Betsy McBride, as well as Renee Sigouin of Crystal Pite’s Kidd Pivot, the program brings New York premieres and a world premiere to the Ailey Citigroup Theater.
The evening features five works, including New York premieres of Beamish’s Romeo & Juliet Balcony Pas and Lollapalooza, a New York appearance by Renee Sigouinc of Crystal Pite’s Kidd Pivot in Lost Touch, and the world premiere of Sonata in G Minor, a new duet set to Bach’s Sonata in G Minor, BWV 1029: II. Adagio. The program includes music by Prokofiev, John Adams, Hans Zimmer, and J.S. Bach, and draws from Beamish’s past commissions for Ballet Kelowna, The National Ballet of Canada, and Fall for Dance North.
