The Yellow Wallpaper
The Yellow Wallpaper is a one-act gothic horror dance-theater adaptation of Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s short story. The play centers on Jane, a 19th-century woman, who is prescribed "The Rest Cure" and confined to months of isolation in a room adorned with yellow wallpaper. Jane begins to hallucinate that there is a woman trapped inside the walls. The cast is led by Broadway veteran Megan Ort (Sweeney Todd, Cats) and Josh Andrés Rivera (Steven Spielberg's West Side Story, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) as Jane's husband John. Director/choreographer Caitlin Ort weaves the classic text with evocative movement, bringing the room to life and creating a chilling theatrical experience.
