Mark Morris Dance Group
This summer, Mark Morris Dance Group launches its milestone 45th anniversary season and presents a stunning program that showcases the breadth and versatility of Mark Morris’s choreography. With live music and Mark Morris’s signature blend of wit, musicality, and emotional depth, this much-anticipated engagement features two programs that celebrate both new works and beloved repertory.
In Program A, experience the world premiere of a dynamic new work set to the music of James P. Johnson, as well as the lyrical and spirited The Muir (2010), the evocative Mosaic and United (1993), and the playfully intricate Silhouettes (1999).
Program B showcases the worldwide debut of a captivating new dance set to the music of John Luther Adams, alongside the playful Ten Suggestions (1981), the emotionally charged The Argument (1999), and the high-energy, country-western-inspired Going Away Party (1990).
