Join us at the 92nd Street Y August 7-9, 2015, for The CHIN Project-- the culminating showcase of DEVICES: Choreographic Intensive.
In May, ten choreographers embarked on a three-month journey with Doug as their mentor. After a week-long intensive residency at Purchase College, and two months of independent work, these artists are sharing all-new projects in this one-weekend-only showing in NYC.
Tickets are limited. Get yours HERE or buy them at the door.
Below, check out a few shots from the Purchase residency...
I've learned so many different tools: how to get in the door in new ways when making work, how to make something out of nothing, seeing the order in the chaos when creating, how to look at spatial design of the dance first, seeing what's in front of me, letting go of control in the initial phase of capturing movement, how to work quickly and seeing the value of working at that speed to capture the momentum of ideas...taking risks to find something new.
