WASHINGTON, DC: "Spilling Ink" at Dance Place

Company:
Dance Place
Spilling Ink premieres Srishti Layankari, a dance drama project that parallels the law of conservation of energy with the story of Shakti, in the form of the Hindu goddess Tripura Sundari and her tremendous powers to create and destroy. Drawing from the imaginative vocabularies and delicate nuances of classical South Indian dance forms Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi, the work creates a vast canvas soaked in religious fervor - to transform and transfer spiritual energy in an experience for the senses.
