Day 1 ~ Studio day in New York City.Dancers are introduced to principles of horsemanship through a physical warm-up and improvisational movement scores.
Day 2-5 ~ In Rhinbeck, NY where horses, housing and food are all provided.Each day studio time and hands-on work with horses.
Day 6 ~ In New York City with a studio wrap-up of the concepts explored over the week's time and a Finale Dinner hosted by The Equus Projects!
22 hours of studio time
15 hours of horse time!
Dancers will learn basics of how to direct a horse on a lead line and then at liberty. We will investigate horse behavior and strategies for maximizing effective communication with an equine partner. We will explore how all of this information transates into dancing and choreographic scores.
