"Record"

Adrienne Westwood’s Record is an evening-length dance work and installation that conjures the space of a distant memory in live performance, allowing the phantoms of memory to be felt in present space – right here, right now. Record is a quiet, intimate work that combines movement, new media and visual art in a way that “plays with the audience’s perception of images amid an air of nostalgia” (Eye on Dance). Tiny objects, paper wind chimes, a record player, childhood toys, old family photographs, and audio and video design evoke the texture of memory and are central to this investigation. The audience is invited to peer in or watch from afar and journey through a series of multiple remembered pasts.
