Jody Oberfelder Dance Projects invites audiences to experience their
hearts from the inside out with the world premiere of 4CHAMBERS.
Created, directed and choreographed by Jody Oberfelder, this
site-specific blend of dance, theater, film and visual installation
runs July 6 - 21 at Officers House 15 on Governors Island.
4CHAMBERS is a sensorial journey into the human heart. Officers' House
15 on Governor's Island has been transformed into an intimate
performance space with corridors that function as arteries and veins
leading to four discrete performance chambers. Guided by six cast
members, an audience of 12 circulates through the space, monitoring
their own hearts throughout this interactive multimedia performance.
4CHAMBERS features live performances by Michele Jongeneel, Mary
Madsen, Zachary Denison, Jake Szczypek, Joey Kipp, Mercedes Searer and
Edward Einhorn, with on-film performances by Ishmael Houston Jones,
Kathryn Merry, Sarah Trignano, Lonnie Poupard, ChristinaNoel Reaves,
Jessica Weiss, and Dr. Wendy Suzuki. The productions features video by
Jason Bahling and Jake Witlen, lighting by Kathy Kaufmann, sets by
Juergen Riehm, and music by Andy Akiho, Matt McBane, Richard Einhorn,
and Jonathan Melville Pratt. Kryssy Wright is stage manager, Steven
Cleveland is technical facilitator and Pele Bauch is dramaturg.
Recognized as "full of invention and wit," by The New York Times, Jody
Oberfelder Dance Projects combines strength and virtuosic movement
with levity and whimsical physical imagination. The company has found
an international audience at venues in Europe and Asia, from the
Centre National de la Danse in Paris, Die Werkstatt in Dusseldorf, The
Pusan National Theater in Korea, The 20th Annual International
Festival of Modern Dance in Seoul, to The Belgrade Dance Festival with
performances at The Belgrade State Theater in Serbia and the State
Theater of Montenegro in Podorica. The company has performed
nationally at Jacob's Pillow, MASS MoCA, Washington College in
Maryland, and The Yard in Martha's Vineyard and throughout New York
City at venues including Abrons Arts Center, Michael Schimmel Center
for the Arts, DNA, Lincoln Center's Clark Studio Theater, The Ailey
Center, Dance New Amsterdam, Symphony Space, The Jewish Museum, The
Flea Theater, Joyce SoHo, and PS 122. Jody has received commissions
from The Orchestra of St. Luke's (Dido & Aeneas) and Brooklyn
Philharmonic (Stravinsky's The Soldier's Tale)

located 10 South Street, adjacent to the Staten Island Ferry in Lower
Manhattan -- accessible from 1 to South Ferry; 4, 5 to Bowling Green;
R to Whitehall St. Station. Ferries leave at 10 AM, 11 AM and then
every half your. From Brooklyn, free ferries leave from Brooklyn
Bridge Park’s Pier 6 at the foot of Atlantic Avenue beginning at 11
AM. Ferries run every 20 minutes. Visitors to the Island can also take
