A Corona Works presents "Thorns of the Crown"

Company:
A Corona Works
Alessandra Corona, a native of Cagliari Sardinia, Italy, and former 12-year principal dancer with Ballet Hispanico, presents her A Corona Works in the world premiere of Thorns of the Crown by Ramon Oller, who was inspired by his early studies of the works of Shakespeare as a young student in his native Barcelona. Thorns of the Crown does not tell a story, but rather deals with universal emotions, including ambition, sacrifice, power, and of course, love. Music is a blend of robust Medieval selections and original compositions by contemporary composers Thomas Lentakis and Bruno Axel. Corona will perform, joined by a stellar company of artists: Mariacarmen Garcia, Michael Bishop, Nicholas Montero, Nick Burrage, and Alexandre Barranco.
September 9 & 10, 7:30 PM, at the Sheen Center for Thought & Culture, 18 Bleecker Street. Tickets: $35; reservations at http://sheencenter.org
