New Downtown ABQ flamenco studio holds "Flamenco Night Out"
Meet with local and national Flamenco artists event followed by a special performance
Flamenco Works, a dance studio helping drive the revitalization of Albuquerque's historic downtown, is hosting an intimate event on Friday, June 23rd with renowned dancers and musicians.
Telemundo Nuevo Mexico anchor Mayra Aguilar will serve as Master of Ceremonies for an event bringing together community leaders, dancers and artists who helped build the new studio along the historic Route 66.
Special guests will experience a preview of the Jesús Muñoz Flamenco’s June 24 Kimo Theater concert along with Spanish-style drinks and hors d'oeuvre.
There will also be a silent auction with vintage flamenco posters and a unique piece of art by Pulitzer finalist Chicano cartoonist Lala Alcaraz.
Some of the artists you will get to meet include Jesús Muñoz, José Cortés, Briseyda Zarate, Mathias Rodriguez, Amalyah Muñoz, Mariana Gatto, Asher Barreras as well as Youth Performers from Flamenco Works’ school.
Flamenco Works is pioneering arts, culture and family-centered activities in Downtown’s core. Flamenco Night Out is an opportunity to say thank you to their community for supporting the rehabilitation of their new space.
