Commissioned by Dixon Place, ALMODOVAR DYSTOPIA by the renowned downtown dance artist Antonio Ramos and his outrageous company The Gangbangers is part Latino-flavored “asstravaganza,” part humorous celebration of the LGBT culture, and part a ballsy political statement against the body-negative and repressed nature of the world we live in. Featuring video, movement, spoken word and gourmet cooking, the piece makes its case for the affirmation of all things corporal through Ramos’ trademark chaotic and joyful storytelling style. Parental guidance strongly cautioned.
