Hi Everyone,
I wanted to let you know that I will be leading a workshop session at APAP called Artists Accounting - Creating Effective Bookkeeping Systems. It's this Friday, 1/9 at 1pm - 1:50pm. (NY Hilton Hotel Midtown, Concourse C) For any of you interested in fiscal, bookkeeping, or general administration, it would be great for you to attend! Below is an overview of the workshop.
Artists Accounting - Creating Effective Bookkeeping Systems
This session will introduce performing arts non-profit organizations and independent artists to standards for creating and maintaining bookkeeping systems. We will review basic accounting terminology and how it relates to business practices common to arts organizations. Examples of a typical chart of accounts that are easily replicable and universally understood will be provided. We also will review idiosyncrasies of the non-profit structure. Participants will gain a basic understanding of bookkeeping maintenance and financial reporting.
