Laura Camacho started her music career in her hometown of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She specialized in classical double bass, while remaining active in her obsession, tango music. As a member of Las Del Abasto, she opened for premiere tango acts such as Sexteto Mayor and Mariano Mores. After being offered a scholarship at the University of Georgia, she moved to Athens, Ga, where she found there to be a lack of tango music in the classic city. Camacho assembled a group of top notch local musicians to perform in the group. The group's collective of world class musicians have played with the likes of Bela Fleck, Ben Folds, Catupecu Machu, Cee-Lo Green, Deerhunter, members of Drive-By Truckers, Universal Sigh, members of Olivia Tremor Control and Circulatory System, Herbie Hancock, Diana Krall, Las Del Abasto, Layma Azur, Matisuyahu, and Christian McBride.
