The class is designed to teach students the movement, style and characteristics of Afro Cuban dance. Students will learn a range of authentic Afro Cuban Folkloric dances including Yoruba, Palo, Rumba, and Congo while gaining an awareness of the accompanying rhythms. The significance and context of the dances will be explained to foster greater understanding and expressiveness. This class welcomes students from beginner to advanced level to learn and enjoy the rich heritage of Afro Cuban.
