  For the first time ever, the world-renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will be joined by rising stars of Ailey II, gifted young dancers from The Ailey School, and talented students from AileyCamp in a spectacular performance on Tuesday, May 7th at 7pm on the world famous Apollo stage.  A gala benefit party with festive dress, décor and dancing to music by special guest DJ Kiss will close the night.  Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, proceeds from the celebration will provide vitally needed scholarships for talented students of The Ailey School as well as Ailey’s innovative Arts In Education & Community Programs.  For more information on benefit tickets starting at 50, call (212) 405-9031 or visit www.alvinailey.org.

·            Ailey School students (ages 6 to 23) showcase the breadth of The Ailey School’s program in Synthesis

·            Ailey II will perform excerpts of Virtues choreographed by Amy Hall Garner

·            Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater performs excerpts of  Petite Mort by renowned European choreographer JiAí Kylián, and Ronald K. Brown’s landmark work,Grace; along with Strange Humors, a thrillingly intense duet by Artistic Director Robert Battle.

·            Alvin Ailey’s timeless Revelations performed by Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ailey II & students from The Ailey School
