luciana achugar is a Brooklyn-based choreographer from Uruguay in close dialogue with the NY and Montevideo contemporary dance communities. Her work is concerned with the post-colonial world, searching for an undoing of current power structures from the inside out. 'An Epilogue for OTRO TEATRO: True Love' furthers achugar’s search for another kind of theater; performance as ritual. An occasion for communion and healing that viscerally activates the passive spectator. A ritual of growing a sensational, connected, and decolonized collective body, full of love and magic; of growing a ’post-civilized’ utopian collective body for audience and performers.

Co-presented by Gibney Dance and The Chocolate Factory Theater. Part of the Making Space Fall 2015 Season at Gibney Dance: Agnes Varis Performing Arts Center. More information at GibneyDance.org/MakingSpace.
