BAC Space Studio Showings, April 12

As we enter week three of Spring 2018 BAC Space, reservations are now available online for the Studio Showings on Thursday, April 12. Next week, BAC Space Resident Artists open up our studio doors to give audiences a glimpse of the creative process and an opportunity to see works in varying stages of development. The showings are open to the public and free to attend with a reservation.

11AM / Sacha Yanow
Rudolf Nureyev Studio
Performance artist Sacha Yanow is developing Cherie Dre, a solo performance about the showgirl alter ego of the artist's grandmother.

12PM / RoseAnne Spradlin
John Cage & Merce Cunningham Studio
Choreographer RoseAnne Spradlin is developing a new work exploring the possibility of internal exhaustion, the dancer's drive toward self-exposure, and the cycling of the form through apogee and perigee.

1PM / Jimena Paz
Christina Sterner Studio
Choreographer Jimena Paz's research is focused on the urge to move within and around opinions of foreignness, an urge rooted in the untrained body.

3PM / Ligia Lewis
John Cage & Merce Cunningham Studio
Choreographer Ligia Lewis is using melodrama as a point of departure for Water Will (in Melody), a devised choreographic work for three performers.

5PM / David Neumann
Rudolf Nureyev Studio
Dance/theater artist David Neumann is examining the latest questions emerging from astrophysics, placing privilege and race into the cosmic scale.
