BALLET HISPANICO
Announces Auditions for BHdos
August 18, 2012 at Ballet Hispanico
Ballet Hispanico, recognized as the preeminent Latino dance institution in the United States, announces the Fall 2012 Season of BHdos, the company's pre-professional troupe. Auditions for the troupe will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 1-4pm at Ballet Hispanico, 167 W. 89th Street, NYC. Registration begins at 12 noon.

Auditions are open to male and female dancers ages 18-22 with strong classical and contemporary technique. Dancers are asked to bring a headshot and current resume to the audition. The time commitment for the season is 10-15 hours a week with rehearsals on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, August through December.

Under the direction of Artistic Director Eduardo Vilaro, BHdos provides promising young
dancers the opportunity to continue their training in a professional setting with the tutelage of
highly skilled artistic leadership. Under the guidance of Deputy School Director Nicholas
Villeneuve, selected dancers will be mentored by the Ballet Hispanico professional Company
and will have access to free classes at the Ballet Hispanico School of Dance.

During the 2012-2013 season, BHdos will tour and perform repertory throughout all New York City boroughs, at public and private schools as well as corporate events. With engaging and interactive performances, this third season of BHdos leads audiences through an exciting exploration of dance influenced by Spain and Latin America. Each fully-costumed performance features the impressive choreography from the current Ballet Hispanico repertory.

Under the direction of Artistic Director Eduardo Vilaro and School Director AnaMaria Correa, students may study the Ballet Hispanico aesthetic via the Adventures in Dance program (ages 2-5), the General Program (ages 6-18), and the Pre-Professional track (ages 8-21). Alumni of the School have gone on to careers in theater, film, and television, as well as careers with leading dance companies such as Ballet Hispanico, Alvin Ailey, Paul Taylor, ABT II, and the San Francisco Ballet.
