BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange, located in Park Slope, Brooklyn, is seeking a part-time Artists Services Manager (15- 20 hours per week). This is a newly created position that will report directly to the Executive/Artistic Director Marya Warshaw, and work with other key staff including the Marketing & Communications Director and Managing Director.

Responsibilities include acting as a liaison and assisting with staffing, scheduling, studio showings, performances and shares with BAX Artist in Residence and Space Grantees and the annual Submerge & Upstart Festival.  Act as a liaison between artists and Marketing/Communications staff regarding programs, website updates and social media. Assist with communication of production needs between artists and Production team. Assist with logistics for all artist opportunities, residency applications, panels and annual Artist Services Day.

Good computer, social media, and web skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and prioritize competing projects. Dance, theater, performance background a plus. Successful applicant will be an adept communicator using many platforms (email, phone, in person) and be able to reasonably anticipate needs of artists and BAX.

15 hours of set scheduled office work (ideally spread over 3 days) with additional hours required to attend performances, meetings, panels, showings (many of these are on weekend evenings). 

Hourly rate: $18

Position will start September 6 with a 3 week training period between July 25-August 19, 2016. This is a seasonal position initially offered September 2016-May 2017 with possibility of extension.

Interviews will be scheduled in mid-June until position is filled.
